What is the HNPS Big Night Out?
The Big Night Out is Havelock North Primary School's bi-annual social fundraiser for parents, caregivers, staff and supporters. It is a fun night of trivia, entertainment, fundraising and community spirit.
When and where is the event?
Saturday 1 August 2026 at the Havelock North Club.
Doors open at 6.00pm, with the quiz starting promptly at 7.00pm.
Can I buy an individual ticket?
Yes. Individual ticket holders are welcome and will be seated with other guests.
Can I buy a table?
Yes. Tables of 6, 8 and 10 are available.
What is included in my ticket?
Your ticket includes:
Welcome drink on arrival
Light supper thanks to Pipi Pizza
Quiz hosted by Riggsy
Live music from Pulse Band
Access to all fundraising activities throughout the evening
I have dietary requirements. Can these be accommodated?
Absolutely. Please let us know your dietary requirements when purchasing your ticket, or contact us at bignightout@hnps.school.nz and we'll do our best to accommodate them.
Is there a dress code?
This year's theme is Winter Wonderland. Whether you choose ski gear, an ugly Christmas jumper, winter woollies or alpine glamour, we'd love to see you embrace the theme.
Will there be prizes?
Absolutely. There will be quiz prizes, spot prizes, best dressed prizes, our new Prize Wall and a live auction.
What is the Prize Wall?
The Prize Wall is a new fundraising activity for 2026. Guests can purchase a numbered prize envelope at different price points and every purchase is guaranteed to win a prize.
Will food and drinks be available?
A light supper is included with your ticket. Drinks will be available for purchase from the bar throughout the evening.
Can I pay by EFTPOS on the night?
Yes. Both cash and EFTPOS facilities will be available for fundraising activities and purchases throughout the evening.
Is seating allocated?
Table bookings will be seated together. Individual ticket holders will be allocated a seat at a table with other guests.
Can I request to sit with friends?
Yes. If you have purchased individual tickets and would like to sit with specific people, please contact us at bignightout@hnps.school.nz before the event and we will do our best to accommodate requests.
Is parking available?
Yes. Parking is available at the Havelock North Club.
Where do the funds raised go?
Funds raised from the Big Night Out support projects, resources and initiatives that benefit Havelock North Primary School students. Over the years, Home & School fundraising has helped fund initiatives such as swimming lessons, library upgrades, new playground equipment and could go towards larger capital projects such as the proposed Outdoor Sports Canopy.
We are also proud to support the wonderful local charity Thermals for Children, with a donation from the event helping to ensure local children in need stay warm during winter.
